A.I.M. Enclosed Return Air Pneumatic Separator

The AIM ERA separator will mitigate cleaning problems associated with dry products which are prone to producing dust contamination in the work environment.

ERA units continually recirculate air under positive pressure for more consistent air flows through the product mixture, lifting the light materials and discharging them into the settling chamber.

The versatile Airleg Pneumatic Separator is used to remove hulls, husks, broken pieces, chaff, dust and debris in agricultural, food and industrial products, including nuts, beans, grains, cereal, minerals, plastic and wood waste. The Airleg is used for precise finish sorting or high volume scalping and precleaning operations.

The ERA separator will mitigate the cleaning problems associated with dry products which are prone to producing dust contamination in the work enviroment. This is accomplished by continually recirculating the air. The recycled precisely controlled air, flows through the product mixture, lifting the light materials and discharging them into the settling chamber, while the heavier product is dropped in the cleaning chamber and discharged from below the chamber.

The versatile Airleg can be manufactured for various capacities, ranging from laboratory models to high-volume scalping units. The model numbers are derived from the size of the cleaning chamber- for example model number 1610 is 16″ X 10″ and model number 3210 is 32″ X 10″. The separators can be used for many products simply by changing the horsepower and fan speed.

Some of the features that make the Airleg a powerful yet an economical machine include:

  • East to install, adjust and maintain
  • Energy efficient (averages 30 percent savings)
  • No airducts, cyclones or bag houses necessary
  • No screens to become plugged
  • No dead air points to trap materials
  • Low Noise
  • Economical
  • Larger- Capacity sorter
  • Heavy Duty Construction
  • Reasonable price

Feeding is an important feature to consider when purshasing a Pneumatic Separator. The best feeds are continuous, without added velocity as the product enters. This is especially important for products that are difficult to sort or mixtures with little differential in the lifting velocity.
